Tours & Outreach
For those who would like a personalized experience of the Kansas Oil Museum, we offer guided tours for both adult and student groups. Ranging from a simple 30-minute gallery tour to more in-depth explorations of both indoor and outdoors exhibit spaces, our tours may be adapted to suit your needs and interests.
In addition to basic tours, we offer demonstrations of working oilfield equipment, educator-led activities making use of our grounds and collections, and even remote tours using our brand-new Advanced Learning Robot ("Albert"). Feel free to contact us to request more information on any of these options.
When scheduling a tour, we ask that you contact us at least 1 week in advance, either by completing the Book A Program form available at the bottom of this page, or by contacting the museum directly at 316-321-9333 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Special requests, such as equipment demonstrations or group activities, should be made at least 3 weeks ahead of time to ensure availability.
If bringing your group to the museum is not an option, you can schedule a time for the museum to come to you!
Kansas Oil Museum staff are happy to work with your classroom, club, homeschool group, or other organization to present an activity or talk tailored to your interests. In addition to informational talks about the museum and its offerings, we offer a wide variety of programs exploring the history and science of Butler County.
If you have an idea for a topic that your group or classroom would like to learn about, please let us know! Again, we ask that you schedule a visit at least 2-4 weeks ahead of the date you prefer so that we can ensure availability and design a program that best suits your needs.
